Fernando Porto Moreno

Fernando Porto Moreno "Nando" was born in La Habana, on 5 June 1911, married Mercedes García De la Torrewith whom he had two sons:

  1. Fernando "Nandito" Porto García
  2. Jorge Luis "Yoyi" Porto García

He later married Carmen in Purto Rico and had a daughter called Maribel.

Nando was an artist, furniture and interior designer, with extraordinary talent. In La Habana he distingueshed himself with ultra modern designs and furniture for the entire house or office hangling completely from the walls, using a very ingenious design.

He had his office at Calle F and Línea, in El Vedado; They lived sometime in Calle 19 between 14 and 16 and later at Calle 23 between 4 and 6, both in El Vedado.

Came exiled to Miami in 1960, worked as draftsman with architects. He died in Miami in 1989.

Mercedes García De la Torre

Mercedes García De la Torre was born on 21 July, was the daughter of Concepción and Pirolo, who worked at the Partagás factory.

Concepción and Pirolo, besides Mercedes, had:

  1. Armantina "Tina" married to Frank Segro. Had no children.
  2. Conception "Nena" married Mickey Ubieta and had a daughter called Lourdes who in turn married Scott and had two children, Brian and another whose name we cannot remember.
  3. José Antonio "El Niño" married Asela Cabargos, pharmacist who worked at Hijas de Galicia and had two daughters, Patricia and and another whose name we cannot remember.
    He later married Caridad "Cary" and had a son named Glenn.

Jorge Luis Porto García "Yoyi" was born on 11 February 1943. Never married and lives in New York.
